ROSES ARE NOT ALWAYS RED-3

Rose woke up 3 hours after her alarm rang, the rays of the sun had penetrated through her window,  and had fallen on her shadow…it was a bright Saturday morning and unlike other mornings when she has to storm out of bed, she was well relaxed, she checked her emails if perhaps she got a possible mail, she then straightened her head on her pillow and checked her inbox and finally WhatsApp, there was no message from Matt nor call,  she looked at the table clock at the other end of the wall, it was 10:30am.

This was rather strange of him, so she wondered keenly if he was okay………..Rose and Matt have been having rocky grounds for the last week but at least he would always leave a message for her at the start of his day, she loved that he didn’t let their disagreement travel into the following day, today was however different.

For a while, she contemplated giving him some space, Rose dropped her phone, and then laid her bed, she looked at her bare self in the mirror and discovered she had lost weight on her face and her thighs were slimmer, work has been demanding and hectic at the same time, Matt had not been helping matters either and she was tired of trying to see to it working…

Her phone rang and it was her friend calling to remind her not to forget her birthday, she had not wanted to go since she wanted to rest some more but she was willing to loosen some steam at the same time, so she replied “I go show, no worry”

Where have you been,  matt snapped at Rose over the phone, Rose was upset and dropped the call, matt had left her loads of messages, and immediately he saw her story on Instagram…… Rose had just returned from the party she earlier attended that evening, it was 9pm, although rose never likes to stay out that late but she loved that one time didn’t hurt… she made her way to the bathroom to freshen up and go bed.

Rose glanced through her messages and saw matt had sent her loads of messages and had deleted them before she got the chance to read any of them that was a habit of his she was used to, he did that when he is angry, Rose however replied with GOODNIGHT…

However, Rose adjusted her posture while she lay on her bed to have a quick recap of her evening and she recalled that she saw a car that looked exactly just like matt, but she paid it no mind, since matt had travelled to Ibadan to see his parents, although she thought the car looked just like Matthew’s car but still she paid no mind, a part of her felt he would never lie to her traveling because then again, Matthew was loved her, but she could have sworn it was his car..

Give me a few minutes, Rose said to her uber driver as she made her way out of the car and coincidentally stumbled on Matthew coming out from the gate, they both met in shock, and a long silence erupted from both with wild sights aching from both…… I thought you said you were in Ibadan? Rose managed to ask Matt as she looked bewildered, Matt still trying to withhold the shock, ‘I DECIDED TO SURPRISE YOU, you know you don’t like me traveling at night” he said trying to pull Rose closer to himself, hoping Rose would buy it…… well maybe she did’  he thought since the countenance of her face changed

Next time tell me, I don’t like surprises, Rose said and matt pulled her closer to herself as they hugged.

Of course, knew there was more, but she needed to play it calm to know what exactly was fishing, Matt had lied a couple of times to her in the past but she had never suspected him of cheating however, she was definitely going to get to the root but she had to play it cool

She hugged him even more and proceeded back to her ride waiting on her, matt went into the car with her, so he could at least see her off to the end of his street… he alighted minutes later to go get bean cake for breakfast, he had only been gone for a moment when Rose had asked the UBER driver to make a U-turn back to Matthews house.

Why did he lie to me, how long have you two been together, are you Rose? The questions didn’t stop rolling out from Temi to Rose.

Rose had no words to say, she walked into the bedroom gracefully and walked out, Temi exchanged numbers with Rose before she left…

That obviously was the end for Rose but was it for Matthew?

The days rolled into nights and still Rose wasn’t willing to listen to whatever Matt had to say, she had him blocked immediately the incident, she took a while to comprehend the entire situation but she ended with questions with no answers….. how would  I get by in this life without you, she would roar loudly in her room with her in the dead of the night…… the nights became longer, and the day was now something Rose now looked forward to Since she drowns in her thoughts at nights.

Temi stalked Rose daily on all her socials, deeply she knew Rose wasn’t just a fling for Matthew, she had known him for 8 years and had tolerated him for 4 years, so she knew deeply Rose was no fling for Matt but aside her beauty she deeply sensed there was more than a connection between them, it killed her that matt could love another girl after all they’ve been through, it killed her so much that she helplessly keep tabs on Rose on all her socials.

Rose choked on her tea when she heard a knock on her door, ‘who is it? She asked, but no answer came, she peeped through her curtains and saw a shadow that looked like Matt, she looked further just to be sure…. It was Matthew..

What do you want? She asked, just a moment, just a minute, he replied to ROSE, I am busy, she was never going to allow him an audience…. After a while of pleading, Matthew left…

It was exactly 3 weeks after the incident and Rose had already received a credit alert from Matt, but that didn’t seem to capture her attention and she didn’t return the money too…

Rose had promised Temi to leave Matt but Is Matt ready to leave Rose?

Exactly 6 weeks after, Matthew engaged Temi but daily stalks Rose, rumors perceived that Temi was already pregnant for Matthew….. Temi and Matthew in their own personal space stalked Rose

Rose lived through the tough weeks of her life but healing was daily to her…..

Rose journeyed through life still, taking the days as they come and finding the joys in between the flows…

Rose’s phone beeped twice, she had assumed it was Elvis calling to tell her that he was outside her office to take her home, she had only returned from a board meeting and she was tired, she checked her phone, browsed through her notifications and figured a message came from an unknown number with lengthy words, so she settled into her chair to read through and she paused to.

“I chose her because she was never going to leave if i kept cheating on her but I knew you would leave if I ever cheat on you”…i am sorry but I would always love you

For a second, she took a deep breath and was grateful she left, Matthew was the problem, it was neither Rose nor Temi but a part of her wondered why Temi chose to stay with such a man….

Rose shook her head in pity on Temi for choosing such an enduring lifetime of turmoil with Matthew simply because she thought the time was no longer on her side… Rose shuts her system and dug her index finger on the automatic bio sign out on the wall and closed for the day…….

Rose let out a pretty smile at the sight of Elvis walking towards her…… he did seem like a breath of fresh air…

ROSE STARTED REPLYING HER DMs

 EVN THOUGH, ELVIS DID LIKE ROSE, ROSE WAS DETERMINED TO LEAVE ELVIS AS ONLY A FRIEND, TILL GOD HIMSELF WHISPERS INTO HER EARS. ROSE GOT A NEW REMOTE JOB, ADDED TO HER USUAL…..
