This is Ramadan, but you don’t have to look like you’re fasting with a dry skin, broken lips, dry hair.
This Ramadan, besides the spiritual health benefits, you still ought to look good, right? And I don’t mean anyhow good, like, really good. You want your skin glowing like gold as the sun hits it and even if the sun does not hit it, you still want to walk into the office, or anywhere and everyone’s asking, are you sure you’re fasting? So here are some tips to glowing like pure gold this Ramadan.
Let’s go:
1. WATER: Have you heard? Water intake absolutely helps your skin to glow. With the heat wave this period, you won’t want to look like you have been starving for ages, and this is where you need to increase the rate at which you drink water because it helps your complexion bloom and keeps you healthy.
2. FRUITS : As much as you need water, you also need fruits. Some fruits contain large percentage of fluid and fiber which helps to hydrate the skin. Fruits like watermelon, cucumber, pineapple and strawberries are high in water content, and will definitely give your skin the glowing and youthful look. Try vegetables too.
3. EXERCISE : Exercise has been proven over time as a good stress easer. Fasting may seem stressful itself, but you can combat that with the right exercise. Exercise helps to nourish skin cells, build your muscles and keep your body system up and running. It also prevents and reduce signs of aging on the skin. This will reflect beautifully on your skin. You can try exercises like jogging, swimming, skipping or even walking. Be careful not to engage in strenuous exercises because, remember, you’re fasting.
4. MOISTURIZING : Guys this is not the time to start changing skin products like Nigerian weather. You don’t want to expose your skin to danger. Try moisturizers that are perfect for your skin type. You may want to pay close attention to this if you have a dry skin type. But even if you don’t, keep your skin properly moisturized. Sunscreens are good ideas too because you don’t want the sun burning out there hitting your skin raw.
5. FOOD : A lot of people make mistakes during this period by eating heavy meals while observing Sahur. Why not try something light? And take it one at a time for easy digestion. At this period, your body will appreciate healthy eating which will in turn result to a healthy looking skin.
6. REST : This needs to be emphasized. It’s true, the economy’s worrisome, but you need to rest! A good rest habit makes your skin look younger and fresher. When it’s night time, do yourself a favour; close those lovely eyes and sleep.Sleeping is not the only way to rest though, sometimes, you need to do a little rewind. If you can afford it, treat yourself to a nice dinner or lunch somewhere other than your house. Go to the spa, hang out with friends, go to the cinema, do fun things. Don’t be all about work everytime. Try some fun, it’s good for your skin.
7. PRAYER: Yes, that’s right. According to studies, prayer makes you less reactive to negative emotions like anger and depression; and we all know, a grumpy looking person never really has an attractive skin (kinda). Prayer calms your nervous system and improve your relationship with others. Ramadan is the season to draw closer to God. This Ramadan, balance your fasting with prayers. Your skin will thank you.
By the end of Ramadan, you’ll have your skin glowing like pure Gold with these 7 tips.
Ramadan Kareem.
