Lady Evangelist Omolewa Ahmed, the immediate past First Lady of Kwara State, has supported over 500 women with food and clothing packages worth over ₦40,000 each to help them celebrate Christmas joyfully. She also urged well-meaning Nigerians to extend similar support to the less privileged, especially during these challenging economic times, by providing food and gifts to spread Christmas cheer.

Earlier in Ilorin, Lady Omolewa Ahmed, through her ministry, God’s Mercy Solution Ministry, organized a prayer session primarily for women, with a few men in attendance. During the event, deserving women received tally cards that allowed them to collect the Christmas packages on Wednesday.

Reverend Bolaji Odejide, a supervising minister of the ministry, spoke during the distribution exercise and highlighted the charitable efforts of the former First Lady. He also shared information about Leah Orphanage Home, an initiative under her care. Reverend Odejide explained that the orphanage currently supports 25 children, providing for their physical, spiritual and academic needs. He noted that five of these children recently gained admission to university, with all expenses fully covered. “The vision for this ministry was given by God to Evangelist Omolewa Ahmed to reach out to people and bring them to Christ. It is a divine mandate to transform lives and win souls,” Reverend Odejide stated.

As part of the Christmas outreach, the ministry distributed essential items such as rice, beans, semolina, garri, women’s clothing and children’s materials. According to Reverend Odejide, “Over 500 women have gathered here today to receive these packages freely. Yesterday, during our prayer session, we identified and invited as many women as possible to come and collect these materials for Christmas.”

He emphasized the importance of supporting the less privileged during this season, saying, “This is a time to show love to those in need. Such gestures bring joy and save lives, especially now when many people are struggling. I encourage others who can afford to help to become a blessing to others.”

Each package included items such as rebagged semovita, rice, garri, seasoning items and clothing for women and children.
Two beneficiaries, Mrs. Grace Adeyemi and Itunu Oluwaseyi, expressed their gratitude for the gifts, praying for God to bless and replenish the resources of the donor.
