The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed it remitted over ₦6 billion to the Federal Government in 2024. This was part of a total income of ₦22.99 billion generated by the board during the year, according to its weekly bulletin released on Monday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The board highlighted that a ₦1,500 reduction in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) form fees for candidates effectively increased its total remittance to ₦9.01 billion when multiplied by the number of beneficiaries. JAMB attributed the remittance to its operational surplus following the successful conduct of the 2024 UTME. The board also noted that it has contributed over ₦50 billion to the national treasury in the past seven years under the leadership of Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.

“This reflects our commitment to transparency and effective management,” JAMB stated, emphasizing its continued efforts to ensure accountability in its operations.
