The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of two siblings and a woman in Owoyale village, Agbamu, in Irepodun Local Government Area.
The victims, identified as Alhaji Moshood Owoyale, Alhaji Abdulkazeem Owoyale and Moshood’s wife, were kidnapped from their home at 10 PM on Saturday by unknown gunmen.
The Kwara South Elders Security Network stated that a combined team of vigilantes and security agencies has been searching forests across Kwara, Ekiti and Osun States since Sunday morning to rescue the victims.
Kwara Police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in a statement on behalf of Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya, confirmed that officers and local security groups are working together to track the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of the victims.
The police assured residents that updates on the situation would be provided as the search continues.
