President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 85th birthday, celebrated today, April 22.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the Emir as a dedicated leader who has served the nation with honour both in the judiciary and traditional leadership.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, a former Justice of the Court of Appeal, was also the pioneer Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in the old Gongola State. Called to the Bar in 1968, he became a High Court judge in Borno State in 1977 and joined the Court of Appeal in 1983.
President Tinubu commended the Emir, who also chairs the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, for his efforts in promoting peace, unity and national development. He also praised the monarch’s contributions to education as Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
The President extended warm wishes to the royal family, the Ilorin Emirate and the people of Kwara State, praying for the Emir’s continued good health and a long, impactful reign.
