The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 47 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Kwara State.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the arrests were made during coordinated sting operations across Ilorin and other parts of the state. The raids took place in areas such as Awolowo Road, Tanke, Harmony Estate, Ganmo and Amoyo in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
The operation followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to various forms of cybercrime. Items recovered during the arrest included 10 luxury vehicles, 74 mobile phones, 18 laptops and a motorcycle believed to be proceeds of their alleged criminal activities.
The EFCC stated that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court as soon as inquiries are concluded.
