The Anambra State Police Command has dismantled an interstate child trafficking syndicate operating in Uruagu, Nnewi North LGA.
On July 15, police from Anambra’s Criminal Investigation Department, working with Adamawa State police, arrested one suspect and rescued 11 children (five boys and six girls) aged 3 to 6.
Investigations revealed the children were abducted from Adamawa and illegally sold for N1.5 million (boys) and N800,000 (girls) to unsuspecting adopters.
The rescued children were handed to Adamawa police for reunification with their families.
