The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, has denied reports claiming the President is scheduled to visit the United States on Tuesday for a meeting with US Vice President J.D. Vance.

In a statement on X, Ajayi described the report as false and misleading, clarifying that if President Tinubu were to visit the White House, his meeting would be with US President Donald Trump, not the Vice President.

He said, “The Sahara Reporters story that President Tinubu is going to the U.S. to see Vice President J.D. Vance is not true. If President Tinubu is visiting the White House, he won’t be meeting a Vice President.”

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, stated that Tinubu and Trump share common interests in fighting insurgency and terrorism and may meet soon either in Abuja or Washington, D.C.

Bwala wrote that both leaders have contributed to the fight against terrorism, noting that President Trump supported Nigeria by authorizing arms sales, which Tinubu effectively utilized in combating insurgency.
