The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has assured wounded-in-action soldiers of the best medical care, saying their sacrifices will never be in vain.
His message was delivered by the Chief of Administration, Army Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Isah Abdullahi, during a visit to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
Abdullahi said the visit was to assess the hospital, which is regarded as a flagship medical facility of the Nigerian Army. He recalled that shortly after assuming duty, he had visited the hospital to review its operations and meet with the wounded soldiers from ongoing operations.
He explained that the Army Chief directed him to follow up, evaluate the conditions of the wounded soldiers, and identify challenges facing the hospital so they could be addressed. During the tour, Abdullahi interacted with the soldiers and inspected the upgraded facilities, noting that the hospital had undergone a major transformation.
He added that the facility serves both military personnel and civilians from Kaduna and beyond, making it a true centre of medical excellence. According to him, much progress has been made, and the Army hopes the visit will further support the hospital’s development.
Abdullahi assured the wounded soldiers that their sacrifices are valued, and the military leadership remains committed to their well-being. He said the goal is to ensure they receive the best care and return to duty as soon as possible.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Chief of Administration toured the hospital with the Chief Medical Director, Brig.-Gen. Godwin Ogoh, and other senior officers.
