The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) Ilorin Chapter celebrated a momentous occasion as it inaugurated its 5th Chairman and Executive Members at the Kwara State Banquet Hall on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

This significant event marked the beginning of a new era for the NIEEE, bringing together giant personalities in the Electrical and Electronics industry, experts, and enthusiasts to drive innovation, collaboration, and excellence in the field of electrical and electronic engineering.

Personalities present at the event include The Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Elder Kayode Alabi; Chairman of LUBCON Group, Alh. Jani Ibrahim; Public Relations Officer of Kwara Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi; GMD, Henry George Construction Company, Engr. Nelson Oladimeji; HOD of Electrical Engineering Department, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Engr. Kehinde Olufemi; Chairman, National Centre for Hydropower Research and Development, Ilorin, Alh. Jimoh Jubril; as well as a host of others.

The event was highlighted by the inauguration of the Director of Femtech IT, Engr. Abidoye E. Olufemi as the new Chairman of NIEEE, Ilorin and his installation of the new NIEEE executive members. It also featured inspirational addresses by industry experts and words of encouragement by the immediate past Chairman of NIEEE, Ilorin, Engr. S. A. Tomori. Awards were also presented to the former Executive members for their meritorious service to the Institute.

As the 5th Chairman and Executive Members assumed their responsibilities, the newly inaugurated Chairman iterated the importance of the NIEEEā€™s role in community development and promised the new era would come in with a renewed sense of purpose and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of technology, especially in areas within Kwara State that still lack basic amenities. He also made mention of the need to develop young and upcoming talents by rewarding the top graduates in the Engineering faculties across Universities in Kwara State.
