At the Polish embassy in Abuja, on the 26th of September, 2023, the ambassador of Poland to Nigeria, Her Excellency Joanna Tarnawska hosted the presence of Polish investors led by the Chairman of ZGM Investment Group, Dr. Abbey Onas. In a meeting that brought together important personalities from different sectors of the business industry in Nigeria, it served as a means to foster beneficial diplomatic and economic relationships between Polish, Nigerian and West African Entrepreneurs, CEOs and Heads of Businesses. The ambassador expressed hope that both the Polish and Nigerian investors would work together for the benefit of both countries.
In the meeting, it was highlighted that Nigeria is the only country in Africa in a strategic partnership with Poland, but we have our challenges, one of the major ones being that there are not enough visa slots for businesspeople and it is necessary for these issues to change immediately.
The President of Polish University’s Alumni Association in Nigeria noted that Nigeria is a country where businesses thrive. Reminiscing on the former state of the Polish currency, he expressed hope that Nigeria, like Poland, will definitely make greater strides.
Raymond Dokpesi Jr., Chairman of DAAR Communications, appreciated the Polish ambassador to Nigeria for putting such an occasion together. He stated that such occasions bridge understanding between Nigeria and the rest of the world and are always necessary for any economy hoping to develop.
Former Nigerian Ambassador to Poland, Dr. Samuel Wodi Jimba, identified that such partnerships have always been his dream as ambassador. He assured the businesspeople present at the dinner that both Poland and Nigeria are good destinations for business. He urged for a network with the respective country’s delegations as such partnerships would yield valuable results.
