The Offa Descendants Union of North America (ODUNA) celebrated its 10th anniversary in grand style on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the ODU Multi-Purpose Hall in Offa, Kwara State. Themed “Reflecting, Renewing  and Rebuilding,” the event highlighted a decade of impactful service, bringing together dignitaries, partners and community members.

The celebration began with the arrival of guests and a multi-faith opening prayer. Distinguished guests, including the representatives of the Olofa of Offa, Alhaji Muideen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, the ODU Global President, Alhaji Abdulmajeed Lawal, the ODUNA National President, Sadiq Sulaiman Umar, the Chairman of the Occasion and Dr. Abdulkadir Adegboyega, Chairman of ODUNA Medical Mission, attended the event. Attendees were treated to cultural displays, insightful speeches and recognition of ODUNA’s contributions to community development.

In his keynote address, Dr. Abdulkadir Adegboyega highlighted the success of ODUNA’s medical missions, which have provided free healthcare to thousands in Offa. Other speakers, including Prof. Nike Lawal and Dr. Wahab Shittu SAN, discussed the union’s role in promoting patriotism, philanthropy and sustainable development.

A key part of the event was the launch of a fundraising initiative to raise ₦150 million for modern medical equipment in Offa. The fundraising effort successfully raised a significant amount, reflecting the community’s dedication to improving local healthcare services.

Additionally, Mr. Lewis Oladuntoye unveiled new fitness and wellness programs to encourage healthy living among members.

The celebration concluded with cultural dances and award presentations. ODUNA President, Alhaji Abdulmajeed Lawal, thanked attendees and reaffirmed the union’s commitment to advancing healthcare, education and empowerment in the Offa community.

This milestone event reinforced ODUNA’s dedication to building a brighter and healthier future for Offa.
