The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, made the announcement on Tuesday and congratulated Christians across the country on the Easter celebration.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Magdalene Ajani, the minister urged Nigerians to reflect on the values of sacrifice and love symbolised by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Tunji Ojo encouraged citizens to pray for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria and to use the holidays to show kindness and goodwill to one another.
He also reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving national growth and development.
The minister wished all Christians a joyful Easter and extended warm greetings to all Nigerians.
