Two senior officials of Oke-Ero Local Government in Kwara State, Musibau Amuda and Omoladun Arinde, have been released after being kidnapped last Friday. Their safe return was confirmed on Monday by the council chairman, James Fadipe.
Amuda, the Director of Personnel Management and Arinde, the Legal Officer, were abducted while traveling from Iloffa to Ilorin. According to earlier police reports, the abduction occurred near Eleyin village in Isin Local Government Area when five armed men intercepted two vehicles and took all seven occupants.
The Kwara State Police Command had rescued two of the victims shortly after the incident and continued efforts to secure the release of the remaining five.
Although the details of Amuda and Arinde’s release were not disclosed, Fadipe confirmed that both officials returned in good health. He expressed gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, local government leaders, security agencies, traditional rulers and religious figures for their support.
Fadipe described their safe return as a cause for joy and thanked God for their protection, reaffirming the council’s commitment to peace and development in the area.
