Police Rescue 31 Kidnap Victims in Taraba and Edo States

The Nigeria Police Force has rescued 31 kidnapped victims in two coordinated operations in Edo and Taraba states.

Force spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this in a statement today.

In Edo State, on July 11, 2025, armed kidnappers attacked commuters along the Fugar-Agenebode road in Etsako East LGA, killing two and abducting several others. A swift joint operation by police and local security forces tracked the kidnappers to Obe Hill, where a gun battle forced the suspects to flee. 14 victims were rescued.

In Taraba State, on July 12, kidnappers ambushed a white Toyota bus carrying 17 passengers from Enugu to Yola near Federal University Wukari. Police operatives responded promptly, and the suspects abandoned the victims and fled. All 17 were rescued unharmed.
