Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has resumed office after six months of emergency rule, pledging loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
In a statewide broadcast, Fubara said he resisted the urge to challenge the constitutionality of the emergency rule, stressing that peace and stability were more important than legal battles. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for brokering reconciliation and restoring democratic governance.
The governor called on the State Assembly, political leaders, and stakeholders to work together for lasting peace and development, vowing to complete ongoing projects and revive the state’s economy.
Fubara also thanked Rivers people for their patience and unity, while promising to govern with humility, inclusiveness, and commitment to progress.
